East and West Project
East and West is an interdisciplinary project bringing together 18 artists from Serbia, Austria, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, France, Russia, and Slovakia, presented in Linz, Austria.
The ensemble combines musicians with backgrounds in classical and jazz traditions, alongside contemporary dancers, all connected through the Anton Bruckner Private University. The music blends elements of classical, contemporary, jazz, and improvised music, enriched with influences from alternative pop and urban soundscapes. The performance tells a personal story inspired by composer and director Milan Conić’s experiences as a student in Luhansk, Ukraine (2010–2014). Through a combination of music, narration, and dance, the work explores themes of memory, transformation, and resilience. The compositions weave fragments of lived moments into sound and movement, transforming individual memories into a shared artistic experience. The result is a multidisciplinary performance that reflects on the human capacity to preserve hope and beauty even in times of uncertainty.
